It is the start of the new year and you know what that means, New Year- New Me. Everyone is starting new habits like going to the gym consistently. One of our resolutions is to look cute at the gym. I know nobody looks full glam while working up a sweat. What I mean is wearing gym clothes that make you feel good. When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good about yourself you can conquer the world (or your gym routine for that matter). Below are our favorite gym basics that we know you will love.
GYM BASICS
Black Cropped Top Hoodie – Black is our favorite color and matches everything. SO, when you are getting up in the morning you can just grab a black hoodie without having to put too much thought into it. We love regular hoodies, though crop top hoodies make you look like a true gym fashionista.
Yoga Pants – You do not have to do yoga to wear these extremely cozy and stylish workout pants. Yoga pants are easy to move in and are great for any type of work out. We love the way they look and look great with a cropped hoodie mention above.
Sports Bra – The perfect sports bra makes everything better. There is nothing worse than a poor fitting sports bra when you are at the gym. I find the key is to get a good bra that fits your body type and activity level. Everyone is different and no one style will fit the same. The other thing to look out for is the type of sports bra you are buying. Different sports bras correspond with different levels of activity. For example, a yoga sports bra is different than a sports bra you may require for running. There are usually 3 levels of sports bras-
- HIGH IMPACT: These are for higher levels of physical activity including as running, aerobics, and dancing.
- MEDIUM IMPACT: This type of bra supports moderate degrees of physical activity like some types of yoga, hiking, brisk walking, and biking.
- LOW IMPACT: This type of bra is designed for less vigorous activities that involve slow movements like yoga, pilates, and stretching.
Good Tennis Shoes – So, a good pair of shoes that are aesthetically appealing and functional is ideal. Look for a shoe that fits properly to reduce injury at the gym. Find a shoe that, like a sports bra, corresponds with the type of activity you are doing. Usually, you will be able to find a shoe that can do it all but still be mindful of what you are putting on your feet. Check arch support as well, if you do not have good support, an insert is an easy solution.
